***Mid-America Emmy Awards Recipient***

The Nazi Drawings received a 2004 Mid-America Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement - Documentary Category from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

***New York International Independent Film & Video Festival***

The Nazi Drawings was awarded "Best Documentary" and "Best Director" in this New York City festival.

It was screened on Sunday Dec 3 at 4 p.m. Opening night for the festival was in Madison Square Gardens on December 1st.

***Telluride IndieFest 2K***

The Nazi Drawings was named a "Documentary Winner" and received a Certificate of Excellence.

It had two successful screenings in this independent festival in Telluride, Colorado. The documentary played at The Nugget Theater. Saturday December 9 at 3 p.m., and Sunday December 10 at 10 am.

***Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival***

The Nazi Drawings had a very successful screening to a nearly packed house at this international festival dedicated exclusively to documentaries. The festival provided a Q&A forum after the screening where Wyrick discussed and answered questions on The Nazi Drawings.

 It was selected as one of 90 documentaries (out of over 800 submissions) that was screened in the prestigious Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival in Arkansas.

***Palm Springs International Short Film Festival***

The Nazi Drawings Documentary was voted a "top audience favorite" in the 6th Annual Palm Springs International Short Film Festival.

 Palm Springs Audience Award

It received the 3rd highest ranking as an audience favorite out of 250 international films and videos in "North America's Largest Competitive Showcase of International Short Films".

There were over 1000 submissions from over 30 countries, from which 250 productions were selected and screened for both a juried competition and an audience appreciation award at the Festival of Arts Cinemas in Palm Springs, California.

***The 21st Annual Telly Awards***

The Nazi Drawings Documentary received a finalist award in this National Film & Video Contest.

 Telly Award Statue Telly Awards entries compete against a high standard of excellence and are judged by over twenty production professionals across the nation, who represent agencies, TV stations, production houses/video departments.

The Nazi Drawings Documentary won five top awards at the Cedar Rapids Independent Film Festival at presented at Mount Mercy College.

***Des Moines Art Center Film & Video Competition***

The Nazi Drawings was awarded "First Place" in the first ever Des Moines Art Center Film & Video Competition, and played to an appreciative crowd on Sunday January 14, 2001 in the Levitt Auditorium in the Des Moines Art Center.

 

***The Iowa Motion Picture Awards***

The Nazi Drawings Documentary received four first place "Award of Excellence" trophies at the Iowa Motion Picture Awards Ceremony at the Val Air Ballroom in Des Moines on Saturday April 1, 2000:

  • WINNER - Best Documentary
  • WINNER - Best Original Music Score
  • WINNER - Best Voice Over Narration
  • WINNER - Best Entertainment (Short-Form)
  • FINALIST - Editing (Long-Form)

IMPA Trophies

The Iowa Motion Picture Association's "Showcase Iowa 2000" is the annual competition for Iowa's film and video production industry. A maximum of five finalists were selected in the preliminary round of judging to compete for the first place Award of Excellence trophy, which is given to only one recipient per category. The remaining finalists received a "Finalist" wall plaque award.

"The Nazi Drawings" received an award for every category in which it was entered.

***Texas Film Festival***

The documentary was shown on February 21 at the 2001 Texas Film Festival. The screening was held at the Rudder Theatre Complex at Texas A&M University.

This inaugural festival selected The Nazi Drawings to be shown to a very receptive audience in North Carolina.

***The Public Premiere***

April 2000 - The Documentary played to a packed house at the Levitt Center for University Advancement in Iowa City. The documentary played on two main screens, and in a third conference room for overflow seating. Crowd estimates were over 350.
